Allie's boo boo :{

Allie got her first real owie the other day. I was at work, as usual, when I got a call from Brian saying that Allie had dived out of his hands and hit the cement head first. He didn't sound that worried and he tends to freak out a little bit so I figured she had a little scrape and it wasn't that bad. He continued to tell me that her lip wouldn't stop bleeding and that he felt really bad so I told him to bring her down to the pharmacy so I could love her better. A little while later they came in and she had this huge scrape on her chin and a great big fat lip... I felt so bad! Apparently they were outside when Allie, I'm sure in a fit of rage, threw her binki and Brian bent down to get it. About that time Allie decided to make a break for it, out of dads arms, while she was holding her sippy cup. She leapt out of Brian's arms and her cup hit the sidewalk bumping into her bottom lip, which her teeth then plowed through and her chin hit the sidewalk for some road rash too! What a sorry sight! This picture was taken the next morning and you can see how swollen her lip still is after several hours and lots of Motrin! Needless to say it could have been worse!

Toilet Monster!

"Allie is a princess, and princess' don't play in the toilet" I say that at least once a day! I can not remember McCoy ever playing in the toilet as much as Allie does. Actually I don't remember McCoy getting into anything quite as much as Allie does! I'm pretty sure that we are disciplining her exactly the same. I swat her bum and her hands all day long! And don't get me started on her temper! She is so strong willed that if she doesn't get her way she will make herself pass out, yeah you read that right she passes out! This is not just a little bout of breath holding, her eyes roll back in her head, she turns blue, the whole nine yards! I can just see her in kindergarten when she doesn't get the purple play doh... So this brings me to the question, "Are girls really that different from boys? Or am I just dealing with a very insistant child?" I can't believe how much you forget in five years! It seems as if McCoy was such a little angel! I'm sure that he had his moments too, or maybe he is making up for lost time now! Enjoy the toilet monster pics!

I'm Gonna Miss This?...

The other night I was up all night long with Allie. During the day she would seem fine, but about 11 pm (about 1/2 hour after I fall to sleep) Allie would start crying, well not really crying it was more of how should I say screaming. Brian rolls over just enough to make it clear that I am the one getting up and I stumble to her room. She just wants to be held, no binki, bottle or blanket, just mom. So I cuddle her and can tell that she is way too stuffy to lay down so this is how the night begins. Around 1 AM Allie decides she has tried to sleep long enough and wants to play! Great! Now not only am I awake at 1 AM, there is no end in sight and I decide to do the dishes. As Allie plays on the floor, I grab the iPod and go to the kitchen. Brian is still sleeping soundly, so I start singing. After the kitchen is clean, I decide to give cuddling another try. So around 2 AM I sit back down with Allie and she is out! Yes! I take her to her crib and go back out to the couch to see if she stays sleeping, nope, back to cuddling. I was still listening to the iPod quietly in one ear and had the other ear piece down my shirt so Allie wouldn't grab it. However when she layed her head on my chest guess what she heard? Yeah, no more iPod. We are now sitting in the dark and I am pleading with my Heavenly Father that Allie will just fall asleep, after all I have to work in the morning. It is now quiet and almost 3 AM. Allie is almost out and I start to look around my house and think about my life when a Trace Atkins song pops in my head. Maybe you have heard it. The song talks about the things in life that we wish would pass and how we will someday miss them and wish the years hadn't passed so fast. It is a great song and I can relate a lot of things in my life to it, this is not one of those things. I kept thinking, I', gonna miss this? Not a chance! Then as I looked down at the sweating, booger nosed monster in my arms I wondered if maybe I will. What else would I rather be doing at 3 in the morning? Someday when my children are grown and moved away raising their own families, I will probably be sitting in my quiet house at 3 AM and wish that I had something to do, even if it is taking care of a teething child. Oh and by the way the next morning I caught a glimpse of 4 teeth just popping through Allies swollen gums so I hope we are on the home stretch of this fun event!

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween! McCoy was so excited to wear his costume that he was up and ready by 7:15 am. He was the cutest Red Power Ranger I have ever seen. We dropped McCoy off at school and went to lunch with Dad, Grandma Vicki, Jamie and Kael at Los Amigos. Then it was a rush to get to the Library for the elementary school's Halloween parade. I only got one picture because the teachers wouldn't let the kids stop very long, oh well! After the parade the kids were free to go so we decided that we would go trick or treating since Minnie Mouse (Allie) was sleeping in her car seat. Well apparently we were very early trick or treaters because nobody was ready and some people didn't even have their candy yet, duh mom... You can tell that this was my first year trick or treating for a very long time! Anyway it was almost time for dad to get off work so we just waited and then it was off to Grammy and Papa's, McCoy and Allie enjoyed homemade root beer, sloppy joes and LOTS of snacks! We visited Aunt Verle and Uncle Wayne, Grandma Great and Aunt Marsha and Uncle Paul. We had a great Halloween and can't wait for next year!

Well, I have absolutely no idea how to blog... however I guess that it's the latest thing out there and after viewing all of my friends cute pictures and stories about what they have been up to I decided to test the waters!  Wish me luck as I close my eyes and jump in the deep end of the pool...

This is our family!  Me, Brian, Allie Jayne & McCoy.  We also have a dog, Zeus; and two cats (we think), Grey Buddy Green Eyes and Jayda.  Yeah, you read that right, Grey Buddy Green Eyes, what a name!  McCoy came up with that one.  Why? Because it's grey and has green eyes, Duh!  We still laugh when we say it.
